As I’ve said in my last post that I will discuss separately the marine species we saw during our short vacation in Bohol last month. I know, google-ing is not equal to research-ing ( I quote Professor Robert Langdon here) but that’s the only source of information that I have at the moment, so please pardon me. Also, I’m no expert in this field; I’m just a trying-hard-homeschooling-mom of a very curious boy who wanted to give names to these very cute creatures that he met. Here are the pictures and some description (mostly from wikipedia) of these species and if there’s somebody who is more knowledgeable in this field come across some errors in this post, you’re welcome to comment and I’ll make some necessary corrections. 😉

Sergeant major damselfish (Abudefduf saxatilis) – has characteristic five blacks bars and yellow upperbody. 
Blue and gold damselfish (Pomacentrus coelestis) – also called neon damselfish 
Spotted moray eel (Gymnothorax moringa) – white eel with a lot of brown spots and blotches 
Clark’s Anemonefish or Yellow Tail Clownfish (Amphiprion clarkii) – locally called as black nemo. Hehe 
True percula (Amphiprion percula) – almost identical to the common clown fish but the white stripes are edged with black 
Long-spined sea urchin (Diadema antillarum) – careful with this, really ouchy. 
Red-knobbed starfish (Protoreaster linckii) – this is kinda big for a star fish. 
Common Sand-Stirring Starfish (Archaster typicus) – really common in Bohol. 
Anyone who knows the real / common or scientific name of this tiny-white-crab?… please help. Haha!
