My short reading affair

A college friend introduced me into an application where you can download ebook/epub for free. And since I was left hanging to death of what will happen to Katniss Everdeen after watching Catching Fire’s premier showing (yes, I watched it on the first hour of showing, thanks to 3M Phils. for the invitation).  I tried the app the following day and got hooked, and that was the reason I didn’t have any post last December and tons of pending here in drafts. I didn’t even have the chance to make a year-end and/or year-opening post.

But then, after a month of spending every given chance with reading, the excitement slowed down and I went back to my normal life. A life that has control, balance and proportion… a life that I spend serving my loved ones and myself… a life that I want to share with other people as well. Don’t get me wrong, I love reading and I don’t see anything wrong with it, but I think I just have to exercise much control on how much time I can devote to my reading-alone-time and probably insert that to my daily schedule. 🙂

Here’s the list of what I read during my one month affair with that application (by the way, it already gave up on me last week… I cannot download ebook / epub anymore… hmmmp!) and a bit of personal comment on each book.

There could no better ending, but please don’t split this into two movie installments.

Books are always better than the movie adaptation.

The details are better read than seen sometimes.

The best Dan Brown novel for me.

Too predictable.

It was the longest to read for a Nicky novel.

This shows more of a parental love than romantic kind of love.

Remove all the sexy/f***in scenes, this can be reduced into just three chapters.

This has more story to tell.

And they live happily ever after.
